Arctium Lappa
Alternative Names: Arctium Minus, Burdock, Niu Bang Zi and Gobo
Uses: Used to treat scurvy, diabetes, rheumatism and arthritis; is effective in the prevention of kidney stones; acts as a diuretic by cleaning the digestive system and urinary tract; helps in treating various skin disorders such as eczema, dermatitis, psoriasis, boils and cuts and wounds.
Side Effects: Even though it is said to treat various skin disorders, this herb has been known to cause skin irritation in people with sensitive skin. It is advised that pregnant or nursing women steer clear of Arctium Lappa. Apart from these minimal side effects, people using this ingredient in its pure form, and not through Revivo, should make sure they have purchased the correct herb as the appearance of Arctium Lappa is very similar to the highly poisonous Belladonna and nightshade herb.

Coix Seed
Alternative Names: Lacryma-Jobi
Uses: Rich in essential fatty acids that relieve inflammation; has antiviral effects; treats stomach problems and any spleen, lung and large intestine problems; promotes the flow of urine; alleviates pain, poor digestion, diarrhoea and abdominal bloating; it is said to treat cancer, appendicitis, beriberi, lung disease and lung abscesses.
Side Effects: When consumed on its own (in large quantities), it may lead to dehydration. Pregnant women and people with urinary incontinence should avoid Coix grains or seeds, since the herb stimulates urination.

Leonuras Herba
Alternative Names: Yi Mu Cao, Leonorus Cardiaca and Motherwort
Uses: Treats pain and poor circulation; calms nerves and muscular spasms, regulates menstruation; promotes fertility; used as an anti-clogging agent; helps with insomnia, rheumatism, epilepsy and high blood pressure.
Side Effects: The herb is contraindicated during pregnancy. According to the European Bulletin of Drug Research, no other contraindications for Leonuras Herba were found.

Nelumbo Nucifera
Alternative Names: Lotus
Uses: The flowers, seeds, leaves and rhizomes of the lotus flower are all edible; used to treat abdominal cramps, excessive menstruation, post-partum haemorrhage and bloody discharges; treats premature ejaculation, the breakdown of red blood cells and uterine bleeding; a remedy for agitation and fever; lowers cholesterol levels; used for poor digestion, chronic diarrhoea, insomnia and heart palpitations.
Side Effects: May cause flatulence, constipation and bloating; caution is advised in people with bleeding disorders; not recommended in pregnant or breastfeeding women; little research has been done but the Nelumbo Nucifera seed may cause infertility.

Zizyphus Jujuba
Alternative Names: Jujube and Zizyphus
Uses: Prevents liver disease and stress ulcers; improves muscular strength and weight; acts as a sedative; used for various skin conditions; improves appetite and circulation; treats high blood pressure, anaemia, fatigue, hysteria, fever and asthma.
Side Effects: Research has shown no side effects

Astragalus Root
Alternative Names: Huang Qi and Milk vetch
Uses: Stimulates the immune system; has an antioxidant effect that inhibits free radical production; used to treat the common cold, upper respiratory infections and diabetes; has heart benefits and helps improve overall weakness; treats arthritis, nervous conditions and asthma; lowers blood sugar and blood pressure.
Side Effects: Very high doses may suppress immune system; pregnant or nursing women should avoid Astragalus root. Persons with immune system diseases such as multiple sclerosis, lupus and rheumatoid arthritis should also not use Astragalus.

Roots of Codonopsis pilosula
Alternative Name: Dang Shen
Uses: Treats hypertension; increases red and white blood cell count; has a positive influence on the immune system; may be helpful in the treatment of ulcers.
Side Effects: Prevents platelet aggregation and thins the blood

Prunella Vulgaris
Alternative Names: Holy herb and Heal all
Uses: Used as an antibiotic; heals skin wounds; treats burns, bruises, sprains, cuts, haemorrhoids and liver disorders; said to treat jaundice, hepatitis and liver ailments; has some success in treating vertigo, conjunctivitis, gout and hypertension; boosts immune system.
Side Effects: No side effects have been reported.
