Revivo: The new miracle supplement
A controversial new supplement, Revivo, has made headlines lately with their positive testimonials from patients who have been using the product. Revivo is an immune supplement specially designed for HIV+ individuals. Hailed as a miracle drug against HIV, Revivo is not an alternative to conventional HIV therapy and patients shouldn’t stop using antiretrovirals. Revivo can be taken while a person is on ARVs with the only precaution being that they should be taken at least an hour apart.

Revivo can also be used for a wide range of other viral infections such as herpes and it can be used to address some of the symptoms of TB, including night sweats and fever. Keep in mind that this isn’t a treatment or cure for these ailments. If you are suffering from a dangerous or debilitating disease, consult your healthcare professional as soon as possible.
Revivo is a combination of herbs which contain various nutrients and active compounds that may support the immune system and strengthen the body in general. The ingredients are Arctium Lappa, Coix Seed, Leonurus Herba, Nelumbo Nucifera, Prunella Vulgaris, Zizyphus Jojoba, Viola Yedoensis, Astragalus Root and Codonopsis Pilosulae.
In an effort to prove the efficacy of their product, Revivo recently conducted a survey of 917 users. Nearly 80% of people who use Revivo reported being stronger and having less pain. And 90% said their energy levels have improved and more than 70% say their appetite and other symptoms, such as skin rashes, improved. More than 60% said that their weight had improved.
Dr. Bob Frascino, M.D. and President and Founder of the Robert James Frascino AIDS Foundation, doesn’t believe in using alternative remedies for medical issues. “...alternative medicine uses therapies that are unproven, usually anecdotal, frequently deceptive and often downright dangerous.”
In a recent conversation, Mike, whose friend (also HIV+) has been using Revivo with great success, asked Dr. Frascino if he should be taking Revivo too. In answering Mike’s question about Revivo, Dr. Frascino said that numbers can amazingly improve for a wide variety of reasons. “Do I think it’s the Revivo? Nope. Revivo sounds like a Harry Potter magic spell or a late night infomercial...” Dr. Frascino told Mike. “In reality, it’s a mishmash of herbs from Yunnan, China, with a nifty marketing plan and wild, totally unsubstantiated claims of improved immune function, etc.”
Revivo insists that it is not an alternative to conventional HIV therapy and you shouldn’t stop taking ARV’s while using Revivo. Revivo is an immune supplement designed to equip the body with the power to fight off any infection and 97.8% of people who are using Revivo don’t plan to stop. Respondents’ comments about the herb combo included “My CD4 has increased”, “it makes you feel healed”, “CD4 count is up and viral load down”, “viral load undetected”, “thanks to Revivo, I have no symptoms nor pain”.
According to their survey, the majority of respondents reported an improvement with Revivo, but the company warns against a small risk for side-effects. Less than one percent of users experience headaches and some skin rash symptoms for a short time. Lowering the dose is recommended in case of side-effects. Revivo shouldn’t be taken during pregnancy, but HIV+ children can take ¼ capsule maximum per day.
Alternative remedies continue to be criticised by conventional medical professionals, but the simple truth is that different things work for different people. If you prefer a natural supplement, go for it. But remember that these don’t replace proper medical care from healthcare professionals.
